Sketchpad
I found the above PDF file online talks about using computer software in depth. How useful such an engaging program can prove to be create positive experiences for students. Math doesn't have to be such an abstract topic or subject. Once students have the opportunity to explore and see first hand how relationships tie together or even make something to be. I actually downloaded a 20 minute trial version of the software here.
The software allows you to understand, calculate and most importantly visualize many different variable. When one certain side(s) of a shape changes the area may change or stay the same. There is an array of geometrical shapes and measures that can not only be played with but realized as well.
Someone that does not realize that certain measures or how they correlate with one another they can really understand the concept with this software.
It is not only quite pricey but my 20 minute trial ended while I wrote this blog. I due recommend checking it out!
