I found a website called Geometry Playground. http://www.exploratorium.edu/geometryplayground/index.html
Geometry Playground is a project of the Exploratorium in San Francisco. They focus on the geometry of light, movement, and how things fit together. For four years they have been making a traveling exhibition that encourages its visitors to use spatial reasoning. This exhibit is coming to the Science Museum of Minnesota this fall and winter.
The idea behind Geometry Playground is that geometry is everywhere you look. In the light, how it bends, and how we view 3D and 2D objects. In movement, how if you traced a dancers arm, it would make an arc, an angle, or a line. It even talks about the Fibonacci series and how it is found in nature, like a bee’s honeycomb, or a sunflowers seeds. They are also making playground equipment based off of some of their research.
I think that Geometry Playground is a great way to show people how fun geometry is, and that they see and use it every day. The website has great information, and a links page filled with other geometry sites.
